Diesel Sulfur Content Statement

The Federal Government recently mandated a maximum sulfur content for all oil based Diesel Fuel additives available and used in the 50 United States and its territories. In light of this Federal mandate, questions have arisen from many of our distributors related to whether the addition of Sea Foam to these new diesel fuels affects the sulfur content.

Prior to October 1, 2006, Sea Foam Sales Company used either Parafinic petroleum oil or Napthanic based petroleum oils as the base oil, depending on cost or availability. This includes:

  • All Sea Foam Motor Treatment products
    • SF-16, SF-128 and SF-55
  • Sea Foam Trans Tune products
    • TT-16 and TT-55
  • Sea Foam Deep Creep
    • DC-14

Beginning October 1, 2006, all Sea Foam products listed above have Parafinic petroleum oil as the base oil used. This Parafinic base petroleum oil complies with these new Federal Regulations, and thus Sea Foam Motor Treatment complies with this Federal Regulation as being below the maximum allowable number of sulfur parts per million when the product is used according to product container recommendations for minimum and maximum concentrations in all available diesel fuels, including new Ultra Low Sulfur fuels.
